Wayne Rooney is celebrating his first birthday since taking up the top Blues job as Birmingham City F.C. coach. He has had a year of big changes after leaving American shores to return to his homeland.

Born in Liverpool on October 24, 1985, the former player and current manager of EFL Championship club Birmingham City coached D.C. United, an American professional men’s soccer club based in Washington, D.C, before heading back to England.

Apart from this major change, Coleen Rooney’s Wagatha Christie documentary, which can be streamed on Disney+, cast more attention on his personal life after the court case after Coleen and Rebekkah Vardy, Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy’s wife, were embroiled in a defamation lawsuit - which was ruled in Coleen’s favour.

However, his fans ignored the chatter around him and instead, wished him a heartfelt ‘Happy Birthday’ as Rooney turned 38 today (October 24). His fans also took to social media to share some incredible stories about him.

Entrepreneur Frank Khalid OBE wrote: “Did you know 21 years ago, Wayne Rooney scored his first professional goal for Everton. As his birthday was approaching, Ford gave him the car of the moment: a Ford Ka. However, he had to wait a few days to use it since he was still underage.

“When he turned 18, in his own words, Wayne drove the same car the whole time he played for Everton. Currently in his garage, he has a Bentley, an Aston Martin, an Audi Q7, a Range Rover, a BMW i8, and of course, his blue Ford Ka that he always keeps with him to make him remember where he came from.”
