Football fans warned of travel disruption to four matches in & around Birmingham including Blues & West Brom

Rail overtime ban will affect four games in and around Birmingham today (October 3) as football fans head to Birmingham, West Bromwich, Solihull, and Walsall.
Action short of strike in the form of an overtime ban has been announced for Tuesday 3 October, Thursday 5 October and Friday 6 October. Services may be subject to alteration on these dates

Hide AdASLEF, the union representing train drivers, has also announced strike action on Wednesday 4th October. As a result, West Midlands Railway will not operate services on this date.
The games that are set to be affected at Birmingham City F.C. vs Huddersfield Town, Walsall FC vs MK Dons, Solihull Moors vs Rochdale, and West Brom Albion vs Sheffield Wednesday.
West Midlands Roads said on X, formerly Twitter: “Due to a rail overtime ban & service disruption, more people are expected to travel by car.”


Travel advice for Birmingham City F.C. vs Huddersfield Town
Birmingham City is hosting Huddersfield at St Andrews today. West Midlands Roads said: “Expect match day traffic around the usual areas in Digbeth and Small Heath.” The Kick Off time for the Sky Bet Championship match is 7:45pm and people have been asked to allow extra time since more people will drive to the venue today.

Expect match day traffic around Solihull.” The Kick-off time is 7.45pm and people were asked to allow extra travel time.
