Birmingham City FC v Millwall FC will ccome face-to-face tonight for the Sky Bet Championship at St. Andrews. When the two teams met at St Andrews in April there was disorder and violence for which multiple people are still being sought.

West Midlands Police said it is still looking for the suspects who caused disorder both in the stadium and in Digbeth and Birmingham city centre. They have released a gallery of dozens of suspects who they are looking for in relation to the trouble.

Violent suspects damaged more than 100 seats at the stadium, bottles and bricks were thrown, and pubs around the area were also vandalised. A 60 year-old man was seriously injured. Less than 600 Millwall FC fans are expected to make the mid-week journey to Birmingham for the game tonight.

What has Birmingham City FC said about the disorder ahead of the game against Millwall?

Birmingham City FC has taken a strong stand against disorder and violence. Ahead of the game Birmingham City FC said in a statement: “Those attending are urged to enjoy the game in a safe and positive manner, recognising the impact that any anti-social behaviour will have on other spectators. The Club reiterates its zero-tolerance policy on violence, drunkenness and pyrotechnics.

“In particular, any individual carrying or using pyrotechnics will be arrested and also subject to possible legal action. In addition to this, anybody throwing missiles will be subject to the Club’s disciplinary matrix. Supporters are also reminded that there is no place for any discrimination within football and Birmingham City will continue to push for its eradication across the game.”

What has West Midlands Police said about the Birmingham FC v Milwall match?

West Midlands Police also warned fans that a repeat of the disorder will not be tolerated. Match commander, Superintendent Richard Harris, told BirminghamWorld : “We’re experienced at policing football matches in the region and we’ll have appropriate resources in place for this fixture.

“Clearly, there was unacceptable disorder involving fans the last time these clubs met, and there remains an ongoing investigation into this. We won’t tolerate a repeat and anyone involved in trouble risks prosecution and a Football Banning Order.”

They had released dozens of photos of those who are being investigated and sought after the ruckus during the 23 April match. The investigation is ongoing.
