Birmingham Children's Hospital grants young fan's big Taylor Swift wish

Birmingham Children's Hospital recently brightened the day of a young Taylor Swift fan by arranging a unique surprise after she was disheartened due to a spinal operation.
Daisie, a ten-year-old girl battling Neurofibromatosis Type 2, had been eagerly awaiting Swift's Eras Tour.

Hide AdUnfortunately, her health condition required a surgical procedure to remove a spinal tumor, which clashed with the concert date.
Jake, Daisie's father, said to the BBC, the heartbreak his daughter felt when she discovered she couldn't attend the long-awaited concert.
However, the hospital staff went above and beyond to boost her up.


They converted Daisie's hospital room into a Swift-inspired sanctuary, adorned with decorations, balloons, and an exclusive screening of the Eras Tour concert film.

Hide AdAdditionally, she was gifted a replica of Taylor Swift's famous "22" hat during the event.
"When we told Daisie she wouldn't be able to go, she was devastated," Jake recalled. "Her whole world turned upside down. But all of that changed when she saw the surprise about what staff had put on for her. She loved it. As soon as she walked in, her face lit up."
Daisie, who has been an huge fan of Taylor Swift since she saw the movie Sing, finds comfort in Swift's music, particularly during tough times like her recent surgery.
Despite the physical hurdles following the surgery, Daisie has been making strides with physiotherapy and continues to find inspiration in Swift's music.

Hide AdReflecting on the extraordinary care provided by Birmingham Children's Hospital, Jake expressed deep appreciation. "It's been absolutely amazing, from the surgeon right down to the housekeepers and cleaners, it's been absolutely outstanding," he noted. "The nurses can't do enough for you. You never want for anything in there."
A spokesperson from the hospital underscored the significance of such endeavors, stating, "This is why our charity exists, to do more for our patients and their families. As well as funding big things like new research, equipment, and buildings, we bring the magic, so every young person gets to live their life as a child first and a patient second."
