Bus timetables will be revised from 4th September following the summer holidays. Several areas of Birmingham will see adjustments to bus frequencies and timings.

With children going back to school next month and increased traffic on roads, the demand would go up as well. The many rail strikes have also increased demand for the bus service in Birmingham.

Why were the changes to the timetable made?

Chris Gibbens, Commercial Director for National Express West Midlands, said: “Children are going back to school in September, so roads will be busier with more people travelling. These latest timetable improvements will help keep the region moving by enabling our buses to get our customers to where they need to be.

“A small number of services are changing to better serve the travel patterns of our customers, as well as bringing overall improvements for everybody - at the same great price. So we’d like to remind customers to please check the latest timetables before they travel.

“Recent cost increases have affected many people across the West Midlands, so we’re working hard to make it easier for new and existing customers to save some money. Our fares remain frozen and we’ve introduced new ways of paying, with customers now able to purchase any onboard ticket using their contactless card or phone.”
