West Midlands Police has issued an important appeal to bus passengers to help them to trace this woman for a shocking reason

Officers at West Midlands Police have put out an urgent appeal to bus passengers and members of the public as they seek to trace this woman.

Police want to speak with her after a female bus user was assaulted and robbed on a bus in Birmingham on June 28 between 1am and 2am. They said a pair of offenders boarded the number 50 from Moor Street at that time and stole the victim’s cash, phone and ID and then got off the bus and left the area.

In other news for bus users, the majority of single bus journeys in the West Midlands are to be capped at £2 until at least the end of October after National Express West Midlands confirmed it will take part in the Government’s scheme.

Single fares on all National Express West Midlands buses had been due to rise to £2.70 from next week. But following conversations with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the Department for Transport (DfT), the operator – which runs around 90% of bus routes in the region - has confirmed it will be maintaining the £2 cap.
