Birmingham bus updates today: National Express West Midlands, Diamond buses, Stagecoach & more

Bus services are due to operate a normal service in Birmingham today (Monday, March 27) after the National Express West Midlands driver strike ended on Saturday. However, there are other bus services that could be facing some disruptions as well.

Hide AdThe NXWM have said that the bus strike has been called off following a positive driver ballot outcome over an improved offer of a 16% pay rise and increases to Christmas Eve pay, New Year’s Day pay and accident pay.
They added: “We are very sorry to our customers and the communities we serve for the disruption and uncertainty this has caused over the last week. Normal service has resumed from today (Monday 27th March).”
Apart from NXWM - which operates 93% of the bus services in the West Midlands - bus services are also provided by Diamond buses, Stagecoach and Arriva in the region.

NXWM

Diamond Buses
Major changes are coming to services provided by Diamond Buses from April 15. Several of the services will be cancelled as the contract period is over.
- Service 600 Erdington to Brookvale Park - Service cancellation from 15th April 2023 - This service will no longer be operated by Diamond Bus due to the expiry of the contract period.
- Service 78 Sutton Coldfield to The Queslett - Service Cancellation from 15th April 2023 - This service will no longer be operated by Diamond Bus due to the expiry of the contract period.
- Service 25 Erdington to Hodge Hill - Service Cancellation from 15th April - This service will no longer be operated by Diamond Bus due to the expiry of the contract period

Hide AdStagecoach Buses
They are currently having intermittent problems with the online journey planner and advise customers to use the national Traveline service for journey information. They are working to resolve this issue and apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
Arriva Buses
Easter 23 and May Bank Holiday services
- From Saturday 1 April - Services 903 & 904 will run the Holiday timetable with the Term timetable commencing from Tuesday 2 May.
- Friday 7 April to Tuesday 11 April - There will be no services on any routes over the Easter weekend
- Monday 1 May - A Sunday service will operate on the 901. No services on 902, 903 & 904 on this date.
