Police have issued a CCTV image of a Birmingham bus passenger they want to speak to after a bus driver was assaulted.

The driver was punched in the face while he was working on the number 63 which left the city centre shortly after 8pm on Thursday (August 10).

The suspect had boarded the bus in town and attacked the driver while he was waiting to get off the bus about 30 minutes later at Leech Lane in Northfield. The bus driver’s glasses broke as he was struck in the face, which cut him above his eyebrow and cheek.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Safer Travel Partnership said: “We want to speak to him after a bus driver was assaulted in an unprovoked attack on a number 63 bus on Thursday 10 August.

“Whilst waiting to get off, he became abusive and punched the driver in the face, breaking his glasses and cutting him above his eyebrow and cheek.”
