Fashionistas in Birmingham are celebrating as two new shops have been announced to open at the Bullring in the space where Topshop was situated.

Urban fashion brands Bershka and Pull&Bear are due to open next to River Island in the shopping centre - opposite Tessuti, Levi’s and H&M - on the upper level. It will be the first time each brand has opened a store in the West Midlands. The two brands are part of global fashion group Inditex that also owns Zara, which has two stores at the Bullring shopping centre.

The two stores will occupy 36,453 sq ft and each will have their own dedicated entrance. It’s a boost for the Bullring which has seen Debenhams and Gap close in addition to Topshop in recent times. The signing follows the news that luxury watch retailer, TAG Heuer, has opened at Bullring, debuting its new design concept and marking the brand’s first standalone showroom in Birmingham, the 1,400sq ft boutique offers customers a fully immersive TAG Heuer experience.

What to expect at Bershka

Bershka prides itself on its trendsetting collections for adventurous young people, with many fans interested in music, social networks and new technologies. It is also home to BSK & Man. You will find everything from casual wear to sports and from basic garments to more fashionable items.

What to expect at Pull&Bear

Spanish clothing and accessories retailer Pull&Bear was founded in 1991 and also specialises in urban styles. In addition to clothing it sells music, technology, video games and video images.

It began with a clear international mission to dress young people who are engaged with their environment, who live in the community and relate to each other. It aims to attract young people who have a casual dress sense, who shun stereotypes and who want to feel good in whatever they are wearing. It mixes influences that are seen on teh street and in the most fashionable clubs and reworks them according to their style - turning them into comfortable and easy to wear garments.

When are the Bershka and Pull&Bear stores opening at the Bullring?

Hammerson, who are owners of the Bullring, has not given an date for when the stores are opening - but they expect the stores will open their doors early next year (2024). Toby Tait, director asset management at Hammerson, said: "Inditex more than doubling the size of its presence is a clear sign of their confidence in Bullring, amplified by the decision to place these two West Midlands debuts at the leading destination.

“Bershka and Pull&Bear will complement the extensive line-up of powerhouse names in fashion on the upper level, adding more choice for our visitors, and brands they cannot shop anywhere else in the region."
