A man miraculously escaped serious injury after a BMW crashed into his living room while he slept on the sofa.

Mohammed Ansar Ali was napping when the vehicle smashed through his home on Chipperfield Road, Bromford, in Birmingham, around midday on Monday (April 15). 

Mr Ali recounted being awoken by the crash and was rescued by around six police officers. Fortunately, he suffered minor injuries and was taken to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the BMW driver fled the scene, leaving behind chaos and damage. Emergency services and engineers worked to stabilise the property, closing off Collingbourne Avenue and Chipperfield Road.

West Midlands Police urge anyone with information to come forward, emphasising the driver fled after the collision.
