The legendary - and extremely hilarious - comedienne Dawn French recently dined out in Birmingham while in the city with her latest tour.

Dawn, 66, was here with her ‘Dawn French Is A Huge Twat’ show, which took place on October 5 and 6, at Birmingham Hippodrome, and she visited a popular Birmingham city centre restaurant frequented by celebrities from across the world.

Asha’s Birmingham shared a photo of Dawn at the Indian restaurant, which has hosted the likes of Tom Cruise, Ed Sheeran, American popstar Pink, and many other celebrities.

Asha’s Birmingham wrote on Instagram: “It was a pleasure to welcome @dawnrfrench to Asha’s last week!”

The Vicar of Dibley star’s latest one-woman tour has had critical acclaim and sold-out houses across the UK. Her show is all about being able to laugh at yourself and the hilarious flaws in us.

Dawn told the Express and Star: “The people I love are flawed, hilariously flawed and I can relate to that.

“If you think of the best laughs you have with people it’s when you say, ‘Oh my God, you’ll never guess what I did today?’ When you unzip and admit you’ve been a fool.”

She added: “My mum used to say, ‘we don’t do perfect’ and she’s absolutely right. Don’t even aspire to it. Go on your journey knowing you’ll never get there.”

Her last one woman show, Thirty Million Minutes, delved into her personal life off-camera.

Earlier this year, she performed with Dudley-born comedian Lenny Henry in Comic Relief 2023. The former power couple of comedy share a child, whom they adopted, and have stayed friends since their divorce. They were married for 25 years
