Many people enjoy a drink before boarding their flight, but aviation law forbids anyone being drunk on an aircraft. Airlines have the right to also refuse to carry passengers they consider to be a risk to safety.
Acts of drunkenness on an aircraft face a maximum fine of £5,000 and even two years in prison.
