Americans vote Brummie women’s accent one of the most attractive in the world

Some accents ooze charm while others repel us, and while it’s personal preference - a survey found out the ones Americans like best in the whole world.

A Guernsey-based company surveyed 1,000 Americans about their perceptions of different national and foreign accents to find out. And, the results are in - with the Brummie accent being one of the most attractive, and the intonation of Brummie women being particularly popular over the pond.

Among the most attractive female accents across the world mentioned in the survey, Brummie females came in at number four - ahead of the French accent. The three accents to beat us Brummies were - Australian at one, London at two and Scottish at three.

So, now we have another reason to make the likes of Alison Hammond, Dame Julie Walters, or TV presenter Emma Willis the voice of everything - and not just the Great British Bake Off or Love Is Blind UK.

When looking at male and female accents, the Brummie accent came in at number eight among the most attractive accents in the Highland Titles survey.

Not only that, the Brummie accent was also voted one of the most sophisticated and most intelligent accents.
