A former nursery that has been left derelict is set to go under the hammer

An abandoned nursery in Birmingham is now up for sale and will be auctioned next month.

The former Sandcastle Day Nursery and pre-school site on Chester Road in Erdington is set to be auctioned in February. It's located next door to Yenton Primary School.

Birmingham City Council has instructed auctioneers Bond Wolfe to put 29 disused council-owned properties, investments, land and ground rents under the hammer in its next livestreamed auction - including the nursery.

The nursery is offered with a freehold with a guide price of £650,000, and is on a site of circa 0.64 acres.

The relatively modern, post-1970s building would be suitable for redevelopment, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents. A Bond Wolfe auction for the nursery building is set to take place online on February 8, 2024 and will be livestreamed via their website.
