A 16-year-old has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Birmingham

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was stabbed on a Birmingham street this afternoon (Wednesday, September 27).

Officers were called to Birdbrook Road, Old Oscott, at around 2.25pm today. The 16-year-old has been taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

An area of Birdbrook Road has been closed while police continue to investigate the circumstances of the assault. Officers are carrying out CCTV enquiries as they work to establish what happened.

A statement from the force, read: “Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch, quoting log 2566 of 27 September.

“People can also send any images or video which may help the investigation to our dedicated web page.”
