A large number of events and developments will be taking place in Birmingham in 2023. Some will be large changes with a lasting legacy and making the lives of the people better, while others are interesting but largescale events that add to the culture of the city.
From Disney's Alladin to Oscar winning actor Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds to Mars to more hospitals and railway stations - there are changes and events spanning sectors.
The World Sport & Business Summit 2024 - the prestigious event is set to take place in Birmingham in April. The Summit is where the worlds of sports and business will converge from April 7 to 11 to exchange ideas, reconnect and make new contacts.
6. Camp Hill Line opening
Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the West Midlands Rail Executive (WMRE), are working with rail industry partners including Network Rail and West Midlands Trains, leading the development of three new stations to get passenger services resumed on the Camp Hill Line calling at Moseley Village, Kings Heath and Pineapple Road stations. They are set to open at the end of 2024.
7. 2024 British Basketball League Trophy Finals
In January 2024, the British Basketball League is coming to Utilita Arena Birmingham for the League Trophy Final Four weekend on January 27-28. They are introducing a new Final Four format for this season, and Saturday will feature the Men's Semi-Final matchups, with the epic showdown taking place in Sunday. 8. Birmingham Hippodrome
Birmingham Hippodrome is set to host Disney's Alladin - a spectacular Broadway and West End musical - in October 2024. The show will be on between October 9 to November 3. You will be transported into the magical world at this theatrical event already seen by over 14 million people worldwide.
