BBC Celebrity MasterChef 2022: Who is Kitty Scott-Claus, RuPaul’s Drag Race star who served up two raw dishes
Birmingham-born drag performer Kitty Scott-Claus is in the final of Celebrity Masterchef 2022.
It’s that time of year again as Celebrity MasterChef returns to television screens up and down the country.
Birmingham-born drag queen Kitty Scott-Claus is on the show this year and she’s made it to the final.
Within just her first appearance a few weeks ago, she had already hit the headlines.
One of her first attempts at cooking for judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode saw her serve up two raw dishes, which, unsurprisingly, were left untried.
Since then, she has gripped the nation with her hilarious personality.
With an average of 4.4 million viewers on the last series, Celebrity MasterChef is incredibly popular in the UK, and there’s a lot of anticipation for this year as 20 huge names take to the kitchen.
Here’s everything you need to know about Celebrity MasterChef 2022, including who Kitty Scott-Claus is, what her cooking blunder was, what the full line-up is, and how to watch the show on TV.
What is Celebrity MasterChef?
Celebrity MasterChef is the celebrity version of the competitive cooking reality TV show MasterChef. The programme, which first aired in 2006, sets out to find the UK’s best celebrity cook.
Some of the UK’s most well-known personalities face one another in the kitchen as they hope to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with their dishes. From carbonara to chili con carne to tofu, it’s all about cooking up a storm.
Sometimes things don’t quite go to plan, but it all makes for great entertainment. Last year, Megan McKenna, Penny Lancaster, Melanie Sykes, Patrick Grant, and Nabil Abdulrashid all failed the simple task of making a pancake. It was hilarious.
Who is Kitty Scott-Claus?
Kitty Scott-Claus is a 30-year-old British drag performer from Birmingham, best known for being a contestant in the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. She finished runner-up behind Krystal Versace.
Kitty is a member of Gals Aloud, a tribute band to Girls Aloud, alongside Cheryl Hole, a contestant from series one of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
As well as featuring on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Kitty has been on Pointless Celebrities and Love Island Aftersun. She also had a role in the theatre production Death Drop in 2022.
On her first night on Celebrity MasterChef 2022, Kitty went viral for confusing an aubergine with a courgette and then serving up raw fish tacos. Gregg Wallace also said her aubergine was severely undercooked.
