Bartley Green man charged with murder of Stephen McCarron

A man has been charged with the murder of Stephen McCarron in Bartley Green.

Tamari Greaves, aged 20, from Bartley Green will appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday, March 15).

Mr McCarron died after suffering multiple knife wounds during a disorder in Grazebook Croft, at 11.20am on Friday (11 March).

The 51-year-old, who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene and a West Midlands Police specialist Family Liaison Officer is supporting his loved ones at this tragic time.

His family have paid the following tribute: “A much loved son, brother, uncle, great uncle who be sadly missed by his family and friends in the West Midlands, Kendal Cumbria, Essex and Brighton. RIP.”

Detective Inspector Jim Mahon from our Homicide Unit, said: “Mr McCarron’s family have been updated with this latest development and we continue to support them.

“We’re still appealing for witnesses to the disorder and I’d urge anyone who believes they may be able to help our investigation to please get in touch.”
