Aston: man arrested on suspicion of murder as woman dies in a house

Officers have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found at a house in Aston.

Police forced entry to the property on Victoria Road at 10.15am on Friday (January 21) after concerns were raised for the occupant.

They found a 64 year-old woman who could not be saved. A post mortem examination was due on Saturday.

Police arrested a 52-year-old at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse from Force CID, said: “We’re carrying out house-to-house enquiries and I’d appeal to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious there or had recent contact with the occupant to get in touch.”
