Two teenagers were arrested following the incident

Police have arrested two teenagers after a boy was attacked and robbed in Birmingham.

A 15-year-old boy was confronted in Cotterills Lane, Alum Rock, on Sunday afternoon (22 October).

He was punched and stamped on as his expensive trainers were taken following a failed attempt to take his mobile phone. The attackers then fled in a car. Following enquiries West Midlands Police identified the vehicle believed to have been and it was spotted on Tuesday.

Officers used a police stinger to stop the car in Coleshill Road and arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of robbery.

They carried out further enquiries and later arrested a 17-year-old boy. They have since both been bailed with strict conditions while the investigation progresses.

A statement from the force, read: “We’re aware of footage circulating on social media and we’d encourage people not to share this so not to compromise our enquiries.”
