Fans were shocked to see Liam Payne, 28, step out with Aliana Mawla, 24, earlier this week.

The One Direction singer had yet to announce his split from his fiance Maya Henry when pictures of himself and Mawla emerged.

Payne was seen arriving at Heathrow Airport with his new girlfriend earlier on Tuesday.

Aliana Mawla is a 24 year old who works as a model in America.

The model has over 300,000 followers on Instagram. She regularly shares posts of brand partnerships, most notably with Fashion Nova and Miss Empire.

Most of her posts are from Los Angeles and Miami, but posted from London on 11 May.

When did the couple get together?

It is unknown as to how long Payne and Mawla have been together, however, he did confirm that he split from his fiancee about a month ago.

It seems that Liam Payne has known Aliana Mawla since 2018, where they at least crossed paths.

Mawla can be seen posing in Payne’s music video for his song Familar.

Who was Liam Payne engaged to?

Until recently Payne was thought to be engaged to Maya Henry, 22.

The pair started dating in 2018 and were on-again, off a-again for a while before their latest break up.

The couple got engaged in August of 2020 but initially ended their relationship in June of 2021.

However, in March of 2022 Liam confirmed that the pair were still engaged saying: “She’s still my fiance. We’re still here together, and we’re very very happy at the moment. Probably the happiest we’ve been.”

Following on from the pictures surfacing of the singer with Aliana Mawla, Liam’s reps confirmed to People magazine that the paid had ended their engagement and have been broken up for over a month.

Fans have now started to question the timeline of events after Maya Henry commented on an instagram post of the new couple which she had been tagged.

The caption of the image read: “Liam and Maya look so cute here.” However, Henry was quick to confirm that she in fact was not the woman in the picture.

Henry asked fans to stop sending the images to her saying: ‘I love all of the fans so much but please stop sending me these pictures of my fiance wrapped around another woman.”

“This is not me and it’s hard enough knowing this has happened without seeing it. Enough now.”

Who is Liam Payne?

Liam Payne was born in Wolverhampton 29 August 1993.

Payne rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction who were put together through The X-Factor and eventually came third place behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle.

Liam Payne originally auditioned as a solo singer for The X-Factor in 2008, however he was eliminated early on.

The singer returned to the show in 2010 and was eventually put into the boy band alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

The band went on to become one of the best selling boy bands of all time before going on hiatus in 2016.

Payne signed a record deal with Republic Records following the hiatus and released the lead single Strip That Down from his debut album in 2017.

The single peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was certified platinum in both countries.

The singer released his debut album LP1 in December 2019. He has sold over 18 million singles.
