Adopt A Cat Month: 15 Birmingham cats or kittens that need rehoming from animal centres

June 2022 is national Adopt a Cat Month

June 2022 is national Adopt a Cat Month so we put together a list of cats that need rescuing from two centres in Birmingham.

The purpose of Adopt a Cat Month is to encourage people to consider animal adoption and highlight why it is so much better than buying from a pet shop.

Wythall Animal Sancturary helps neglected, unwanted or homeless animals find a second chance of love.

They care for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs - and have two resident ponies.

A spokesperson from Wythall Animal Sancturary said: “We are finding that sadly adoptions are quite slow at the moment and it is taking a lot longer than usual for our cats to find homes.”

The sancturary also has a retirement village for those animals which unfortunately don’t find new families.

The Birmingham Adoption Centre, in Hollywood, is the largest rehoming centre in the West Midlands.

Cats Protection’s key goals are to re-home, neuter and education cats and kittens.

All potential new owners are required to complete a ‘Home Finder Questionnaire’ - as the centre aims to find the right home based on the cat’s previous home and their welfare.
