It has been revealed that the West Midlands is the worst region for rising crime rates following an increase in violence and sexual offences.

Latest statistics reveal crime increased by 21% in the region in the year to June.

Police and crime commissioner Simon Foster says the figures are due to ‘better recording practices’ and ‘government cuts’. He also pledged to clamp down on violence in the region.
