Hide AdBirminghamWorld reporter Richard Gullick headed to Sutton Coldfield College on Thursday morning as students received their results.
Students came out today in hope of catapulting themselves to the next stage of their educational journey - with hopes of further education and university for many. So did they receive the results they were expecting - and what’s next for the students here?
Saffy, a performing arts student, told BirminghamWorld: “I got a distinction and that means I’m able to go to drama school. So I am going to Performers College in Birmingham, so I’m moving out in three weeks to go there and I’m really excited because Raheem is also going to Performers. He was a late starter, so I’ve got one of my best friends coming with me, so I’m really excited.”
Sunny, a sports student, said: “I got a merit, merit, pass, so that was really what I was aiming for. The original plan was to go to university and that was all I needed to get in, so that wasn’t a problem. But now I’ve decided I’m looking at more apprenticeship stuff and maybe just starting work straight away.”

Hide AdEvie, a travel & tourism student, added:“Today I got distinction star for my BTEC, which is the highest I could have got, so I’m obviously really happy with that. In the future I’m looking at doing more of the business side of travel, like working in account management and the marketing at different airlines. But yeah, just see what I can do with what I’ve got and just hope that there’s opportunities that are out there that I can go for.”
