Food hygiene ratings handed to nine Birmingham venues including Indian Streatery & The Sun on the Hill

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Birmingham’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Food hygiene ratings report on the standards of food hygiene found during inspections by local authority officials.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at premises and online so customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food. A 5-star rating means hygiene standards are very good, while 0 means urgent improvement is required.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to two restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 3: Indian Streatery at 21a Bennetts Hill, Birmingham; rated on February 7

• Rated 1: Fulkoli Mithai Ghor at 49-55 Golden Hillock Road, Birmingham; rated on February 7

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 3: The Sun On The Hill at 23 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham; rated on February 7
