1. Eric Bell live at Nortons Digbeth - Sunday

Eric Bell, a founding member and the original guitarist of the rock group Thin Lizzy will take to the stage at Nortons this weekend.

The Northern Irish rockers had international hits with singles Whiskey in the Jar The Boys Are Back in Town and Waiting for an Alibi.

The 50th anniversary of the legendary band in 2020 has been, thanks to the pandemic, moved to 2021, and Eric will celebrate this landmark playing live in as many towns and cities as possible - including Brum this Sunday!

2.The Ultimate Beatles live at the Night Owl - Saturday

Established in 2001, Ultimate Beatles have earned a reputation as the UK’s leading professional Beatles Tribute Band, using authentic instruments and equipment and a range of costumes faithfully reproducing each of the Beatles key eras.

Ultimate Beatles are masters of audience participation and guarantee to have the audience dancing and singing along with their accurate recreations of Beatles songs.

3. Get Stoned (live Charlie Watts Tribute) at the Night Owl - Sunday

Many music fans were heartbroken by the sad passing of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who died aged 80 in August.

This Sunday, Get Stoned, a five piece band playing homage to the world’s ultimate rock band, will celebrate his life with a day of Rolling Stones music and festivities.

Also, to pay their respects, 50% of door money raised will go to Cancer Research charity in memory of Charlie.

4. Bang On The Ear and  Esther Turner live at DJ Quinn’s - Saturday and Sunday

Live music is back at D.J. Quinn’s this weekend with two great live acts across the two days.

Bang On The Ear, a traditional and contemporary Irish/Celtic Folk Rock are live on Saturday from 8:30pm with their upbeat, traditional and contemporary Irish/Celtic folk-rock tunes, along with many other popular favourites.

Local singer-songwriter Esther Turner will take to the stage live on Sunday at 6:30pm, playing a range of originals and popular covers.

5. Forgotton Key Workers at Birmingham Repertory Theatre - Friday and Saturday

When the economy came to a halt during the first lockdown in 2020, many were ordered to work from home, but others were forced to risk their health and continue to work. This is the story of those outside of the health and care industry who kept the world turning.

The hard-hitting show explores the forgotten key workers and how different groups were affected by the Covid crisis - including overworked shop assistants, delivery drivers on a deadline, and taxi drivers and vets.

6. Adam Kay - Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas at the Alexandra - Sunday

Following the million selling success of This Is Going To Hurt, comedy writer Adam Kay delves back into his diaries to give a hilarious peek behind the blue curtain this Christmas time.

Kay’s new show is a love letter to all those who spend their festive season on the front line, removing babies and baubles from the various places they get stuck.

7.Slot Machine Theatre: One Snowy Night at the MAC - Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Get in the festive mood this weekend through the Slot Machine Theatre’s heart-warming live stage show of the classic children’s book by Nick Butterworth.

The story follows Percy the park keeper, who hears a tap at his door and finds a squirrel on his doorstep wanting shelter from the snow. Percy is soon joined by the rest of his animal friends.

This could be the perfect show for all the family this weekend.

8. The Rotanas live at the Sunflower Lounge

Get down to the Sunflower this Saturday night to see Cardiff rock and rollers The Rotanas perform an energetic show.

The show is presented by This Feeling and support comes from indie rockers Rookie and Chasers.

9. Girli live at the Castle and Falcon - Sunday

Singer, songwriter and rapper Girli is heading to Birmingham this Sunday for a headline show at the Castle and Falcon.

The rising star’s sound was descrived by The Guardian as veering “between PC Music, bubblegum pop, pop punk and rap”.
