Former rugby player Levi Davis has been missing for over a month following a holiday in Spain.

Davis announced to his close friend Richard Squire - who lives in Ibiza - that he was going to catch a boat off the island and travel to Barcelona. The England Rugby star was last seen filming a video at The Old Irish Pub, off the Catalan capital’s tourist street La Rambla on October 29.

Davis’ mum appeared on Good Morning Britain to make an urgent plea for her missing son. Julie Davis opened up to GMB’s Suzanna Reid about her son’s mental health prior to his trip to Ibiza. She said: “Levi said, ‘I need to just sort my head out and have some time to refresh myself’.

“The fact he would normally be in touch with me on a day to day basis or his friends makes it even more concerning.”

Julie said that she hopes to find her son by searching Barcelona with friends and family but fears his condition is worsening. She said:“I think given the state he was in, I think he’s probably deteriorated.”

Davis’ passport has also been found in Barcelona by the police.

Levi’s mum Julie, who is from Solihull, says she hasn’t received any update from the Spanish police since they found his passport and says the investigation has been ‘very slow’.

Speaking to the BBC, she said:“Since the last thing we heard about the passport, there’s been no more information.”

She said the last few weeks have been ‘the scariest time’ of her life and described it as ‘an emotional whirlwind’.

Julie said that Levi had also been dealing with a knee injury in the last few months and she thinks he needed some time to himself. She added that “the accumulation of all the struggles and the injury” had affected Levi mentally.

She appealed for Levi to get in touch and let the family know he is safe. She told the BBC: “We’re all missing you, all the family care for you so much. We just want you home, son.

“Please come home and we can sort out whatever is going on, together.”

Davis also sent his mum a video while he travelled on a boat to Barcelona the day he went missing. In the video he omments on the view from the boat, and says: “Hi mum..it’s beautiful.”
