It’s only been open for three months - but that hasn’t stopped chic and bijoux dining spot Black & Green in Barnt Green make it into the MIchelin Guide.
The fine dining venue is being heralded as a neighbourhood version of the Craft restaurant at the ICC - featuring luxury ingredients and an imaginative set menu. It only seats 16 people - but it’s packed full of atmosphere and decadent decor.

It’s amazing news for the team with Andrew Sheridan, of Birmingham’s ‘About 8’ in Centenary Square in Birmingham City Centre, is the main man behind the stove at this buzzy, friendly spot - and he and the team are happy to speak with guests.
Supported by his business partner Sam Morgan and Emma Morgan, the new venture has put a spring into the step of About Dining’s portfolio of restaurants.
It’s a fabulous accolade for the West Midlands dining scene and follows Birmingham being name ‘the most exciting food destination in the UK as the launch of the latest Good Food Guide’.

What to expect at Black & Green in Barnt Green
Black symbolises classical and Green sustainable. The food and drink focuses on a modern interpretation of classical European flavours.
The MICHELIN Guide’s inspector called Black & Green: “A bijou neighbourhood restaurant with stools set at tall tables and a black and green colour scheme. “The short, sensibly priced tasting menu moves with the seasons, using prime ingredients to deliver layers of texture and flavour in imaginative dishes.

“All guests are served at the same time and most go for the wine pairings. Add in the cheese course for a satisfying meal.”

For November, The Michelin Inspectors’ Favourite New Restaurants shared fifteen new additions to the Guide, ahead of the annual launch ceremony when the Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmands and Green Stars will be unveiled.
Andrew has been hailed as one of the most innovative and ambitious young chefs in the country. He rose to attention for his appearance on BBC Two’s Great British Menu in 2018 where he was branded the ‘maverick chef’ for his unusual and creative approach. Andrew and Sam were most recently seen on Come Dine With Me The Professionals on Channel 4.
