The 2000s were truly an exciting time to grow up in Birmingham.
In Birmingham, the city set about more updates to our ever-changing cityscape. The Mailbox opened in 2000, followed by Millennium Point and the shiny new Bullring. Our food even won the city’s first Michelin star. A number of high profile celebrities also came to to the city during the decade.
And for the city’s football teams, both Villa and Blues were competing with each other in the Premier League.
Birmingham's city centre has undergone big changes since the noughties, for the better, but many Brummies will still miss these old Birmingham venues.
We’ve put together a photo gallery of Birmingham during the 2000s decade. Enjoy!
