We all love a bargain and with the cost of living crisis hitting everyone there’s never been a better time to look out for deals when it comes to enjoying food and drink across the city.

Birmingham is positively bursting at the seams with bars, restaurants and pubs, but did you know many of them also offer brilliant happy hour deals? From creative cocktails to bostin beers; there’s plenty of choice if you know where to look.

10 of the best happy hours in Birmingham

The Pineapple Club, City Centre

Having just landed a spot in the top 50 cocktail bars list, it’s not just Brummies that know how good the drinks are at The Pineapple Club now. Not only is the bar getting national recognition, it’s also the home of one of the best happy hours in the city.

Visit between 5-8pm on Thursdays and Fridays to enjoy £6 cocktails. There’s a nice selection to pick from and it’s a fun, colourful bar ideal for groups. You can find out more about The Pineapple Club Birmingham website.

The Church, Jewellery Quarter

One of the best pubs for a relaxing drink after work, this JQ staple now has a cracking happy hour. From Monday all through to Friday if you visit between 4-7pm you can grab two house cocktails for £12.

Jungle Bird, City Centre

If you like your cocktails bright and bold you can’t go wrong with Jungle Bird. Offering tropical inspired drinks and food (all plant based by the way) in a colourful setting, there’s a delicious happy hour to sweet the deal further.

Visit 5-7pm Wednesday to Friday or any time on a Sunday and you’ll enjoy discounted cocktails and a great soundtrack. Check out the Jungle Bird Instagram page for more information.

Chapter, Edgbaston

Over in leafy Edgbaston, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, you’ll find this bar and restaurant serving up a rather tasty happy hour 5-7pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Whether you choose to enjoy your drinks in the comfortable bar or the stylish restaurant with a meal, you can enjoy a glass of wine for £5.50, pints of beer and cider for £4.50 and cocktails (from a rotating list) for just £5. Crazy Pedros, Digbeth

The epicentre of happy hour fun, this bar is loud and proud with a host of deals across the evening. From 5-10pm Sunday to Friday you can enjoy two for £12 on cocktails and frozen margaritas.

If you’re hungry you can also indulge in one of their pizza slices for a credit crunch-friendly £2.50. Rumour has it they also have a happy hour deal on wine but I’ve never seen anyone drink plonk in there to this day. More information is on the Crazy Pedro’s Instagram page.

The Victoria, City Centre

Fancy the sound of two cocktails for a tenner? Head over to The Victoria any time until 8pm (and all day Sundays!) to enjoy this great value deal. The perfect place for pre-show tipple if you’re visiting the Alexandra Theatre – it’s right next door. The pub is closed Sundays and Mondays but usually open from 4pm all other days. One for those of you partial to retro video games, this neon-painted arcade offers a happy hour with a twist. Choose a cocktail from the specially curated list and receive 15 tokens to use on any of the games available for £15.

Vietnamese Street Kitchen, City Centre

Did you know above the Bullring restaurant there’s a bar of the same name serving up 2 for £14 cocktails – all day. From classics to fruity island-inspired punches, there’s something for everyone. The longest happy hour you’ll find in Brum, Dirty Martini offers 50% off a large selection of martinis 12-8pm (yes, that’s a whole 8 hours) during the week.
