Three bright and bold eggs have just landed in the heart of Birmingham, adding a splash of colour to Centenary Way this Easter.
Painted by Fine Art students James Fellows, Bethany James, and Shalet Shaji from Birmingham School of Art, these giant artworks are packed with local pride.
Each egg is a tribute to the city – its green spaces, iconic buildings, and historic legends. Look closely and you’ll spot nods to Bournville, Victoria Square, the Library of Birmingham, and the Council House.
They also celebrate Birmingham’s famous faces, from JRR Tolkien and Benjamin Zephaniah to Matthew Boulton, James Watt, William Murdoch – and yes, even Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight gets a shout-out.
The students spent weeks bringing these vibrant pieces to life, and now they’re out on display for everyone to enjoy. The eggs aren’t just pretty to look at – they tell stories, spark conversations, and show off the city’s creative spirit.
So if you’re in the area, take a stroll through Paradise and check them out. It’s Birmingham on an egg – bold, brilliant, and proudly painted by the next generation of artists.
