The Grade II listed bar on Bradford Street in Digbeth was previously renovated and restored in 2021 by pub owners Nigel Barker and Will Young - who had it on a lease. But the pair closed it suddenly in November 2022.

The landmark Birmingham pub, which was built between 1899 and 1900, now has a new owner called Danny Shepherd-Murphy - who opened heavy metal venue the Devil’s Dog in Digbeth.

Shepherd-Murphy told BirminghamWorld he bought the White Swan for £650,000 after it was listed for sale in November.

The 3,705 sq. ft property still retains much of its original features like its terracotta and detailed brickwork façade beneath a pitched slate roof.

Dan that he will be doing a refresh of the bathrooms, but because it’s a listed property there’s not much refurbishment that can be done.

The White Swan will reopen on May 5 with a party where Soul Sessions Brum will perform live. You can only perform as there are some open mic slots available.
