Video: We get a taste of Turkey at the Istanbul Restaurant in Handsworth, Birmingham for Euro 2024

The European Championship 2024 is about the get underway as the best 24 football teams from across the continent compete for the title.

All qualifying nations will begin the tournament in the group stages, and to celebrate Turkey’s participation, video journalist Richard Gullick headed down to the Istanbul Restaurant in Handsworth to get a taste of Turkey.

The restaurant and takeaway has a 4 star rating on Google from almost 600 reviews. One reviewer wrote: "Great portions for the prices, great in taste! Very kind staff."

We were treated to one of the restaurant’s best kebabs. The service was swift, and the staff were very kind, too.

As you can see from th video, we enjoyed our kebabs outside, thanks to the outdoor seating at the venue - ideal for the summer months.

The venue, located on Stockwell Road, is ideal if you fancy a late night treat, but also it’s a great choice for a filling lunch if you work in the area.
