11 must-visit Vietnamese street food restaurants & cafes taking Birmingham's culinary scene by storm

Birmingham's culinary scene is witnessing an exciting transformation, with Vietnamese street food taking centre stage

Birmingham’s culinary landscape is witnessing a delightful surge in Vietnamese cuisine, with the city embracing the vibrant flavours and unique dining experiences that Vietnamese street food spots offer.

Among these, two new authentic Vietnamese restaurants, Oak Ca Phe and Tranquil 1992 Coffee House, have recently opened their doors, adding to the city’s rich variety of international flavours.

Tranquil 1992 Coffee House stands as the UK’s first Aesthetic Vietnamese Coffee House, offering a unique blend of traditional Vietnamese coffee and modern aesthetics.

Located in Jewellery Quarter, it’s a haven for coffee enthusiasts and those looking to indulge in the rich, dessert-like flavours of Vietnamese coffee.

With its inviting atmosphere and rave reviews, Tranquil 1992 is poised to become a landmark spot for both locals and visitors alike.

Oak Ca Phe, located on Bearwood Road, is a family-run café that brings the essence of Vietnam to Birmingham. Offering a menu that includes traditional sharing plates like Goi Cuon (summer rolls) and Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), which are staples of Vietnamese cuisine.

The café has quickly become a local favourite, known for its ‘cloud’ coffee and fresh bakes, providing a cosy ambiance that’s perfect for both a quick lunch and a leisurely afternoon.

These two spots are just the beginning of what’s to come, as Birmingham continues to welcome new flavours and cultures into its dining scene.

Now, the renowned independent Birmingham restaurant team at Vietnamese Street Kitchen at St Martin’s Square at the Bullring and Resorts World are introducing the dishes at a new venue in The Arcadian called Seafood City - where Rozu used to be.

As Vietnamese restaurants are becoming more and more popular in the city, it’s definitely a response to brummies' desire for real street food that offers both variety and a taste of international culture right at home.
