Birmingham has a thriving food and drink scene but some of the best finds are actually the hidden gems often over-looked or unheard of by the majority. We’re probably all guilty of gatekeeping a few secrets spots!
Finding a hidden gem when it comes to food and drink is a delight. Often they’re squirrelled away down a side street or only known to a select few. In most cases they’re simply stumbled upon by chance, but either way there’s lots of joy to be found when you look a little outside of your comfort zone.

9. Anderson & Hill, City Centre
Nestled right in the heart of the city centre, this deli shop is found with Great Western Arcade. While you can’t sit in to eat, the sandwiches are epic and worth fighting the lunchtime rush for. 10. The Borrow Shop, Jewellery Quarter
If you love coffee and vegan sweet treats this tiny shop should be on your radar. As well as lovely frothy coffees and some of the best pastries in Brum you can also literally borrow things from them. Need to steam your carpets? Borrow the machine and save yourself a fortune.
