We dined at an hidden Birmingham restaurant that makes you feel like you're part of an exclusive Instagrammer club
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Located in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Decorum Restaurant is a true hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience.
Upon arrival, the first thing that catches your eye is the striking gold Decorum sign. However, the restaurant itself isn’t immediately noticeable.

The floor is adorned with black marble, and the walls are draped in black and gold accents. Walking through the gold entrance, you’re presented with white marble stairs and mirrored marble walls, leading up to the restaurant.
From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by an ambiance that is both classy and inviting.
The interior boasts dark, sophisticated colours, dim lighting, with flowery decors and a striking gold Decorum sign that sets the tone for an evening of elegance.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the clientele. Everyone is dressed to the nines, adding to the restaurant’s upscale vibe, making you feel like you’re part of an exclusive club. It’s the perfect place to don your best outfit and enjoy a night out with friends or loved ones.

Hide AdVisiting Decorum, in a group of three, I decided to explore the chef’s specials from the menu, and it was a decision I did not regret.
To kick off the evening, I opted for the calamari, which was prepared with the restaurant’s in-house batter.
The calamari was chunky but perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, offering a delightful contrast in textures. The batter had a unique flavour that hinted at the chef’s choice.

For the main course, I indulged in the Decorum Signature Steak. Weighing in at a generous 500g, this marbling steak was a sight to behold.

The Persian marinade added an exotic twist; sweet, tangy, savoury combination of flavours, enhancing the natural flavours of the meat. The steak cooked to perfection was served with Decorum’s signature sauce and seasonal vegetables, which complemented the rich flavours of the meat beautifully.
To round off the meal, we shared the Chef’s Dessert Platter, which featured three of the restaurant’s finest cakes: a classic fudge cake, raspberry crème brûlée, and New York cheesecake.

Each dessert was a delicate end to our meal, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The fudge cake was decadently chocolatey rich, the crème brûlée was smooth and creamy with a perfect caramelized top, and the cheesecake was light and tangy, providing a sweet end to our meal.
Final Thoughts
I would highly recommend a visit to Decorum Restaurant in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter if you’re seeking a sophisticated, ‘picture-perfect’ dining experience.

The blend of elegant decor, and great cuisine makes it an exceptional choice for special occasions or just a casual night out with friends.
Whether you’re there for the ambiance, the food, or both, Decorum guarantees an Instagram-worthy evening.
