First look at Cadbury World's huge new chocolate store

Cadbury World in Bournville, will burst open its chocolatey doors this week to unveil its biggest shop yet, with its largest range of Cadbury products ever and freebies for the first guests who visit.

Just in time for Christmas shopping, the new store in the heart of Bournville has more Cadbury lines under one roof than any other store in the UK, with no-less-than 350 product lines and 50 special edition Christmas ranges.

The Cadbury World shop first opened 34 years ago, so, in celebration of the brand-new opening, the first 200 shoppers to visit on Thursday 21st November will receive a free 180g bar of Cadbury’s most iconic chocolate, the ever-loved Cadbury Dairy Milk bar.

Barrie Oldridge, Store Manager at the Cadbury World Shop, will be celebrating his 30th anniversary working at the attraction next year.

When asked about working for almost three decades at Cadbury World’s popular chocolate shop, Barrie said: “The time working at the Cadbury World shop has flown by, and it certainly doesn’t feel like almost 30 years - more like 10!

“My favourite thing about the job is meeting all the visitors, who share a love of chocolate with me, whether they travel from down the road or different corners of the world - on occasion I even get to practice my Español!

“Visitors often ask what my favourite products are, which having tried them all, is a big question! My top picks would have to be Picnic and Starbar, however, the new product launches every year mean the top spot is always highly disputed. The Cadbury World chocolatiers’ personalised products are also spectacular.

“Cadbury World is always full of fun but particularly at this time of year it really feels extra magical. I can’t wait to see our guests enjoy the attraction and experience our brand-new shop!”

Also, at Cadbury World this Christmas, Santa’s Stage Show returns running weekends from Saturday 23rd November to Sunday 22nd December plus 23rd and 24th December. Guests can join Santa and his trusty elf, Jingle, for his live show and experience a sleigh-full of cheer.

This year Cadbury World has received £8 million investment from Merlin Entertainments. This new shop opening is part of the investment which also includes other refurbishments and new chocolatey zones, including the Have A Go zone, new Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride, Bournville Experience and more.
