A delightful new bubble tea store is making its debut in Birmingham - here’s the scoop

Who would have thought the heart of the Midlands would become the go-to spot for a worldwide bubble tea experience?

The Taiwan-based company, Gong cha, has chosen Birmingham’s bustling New Street as the location for its 13th UK store. The grand opening, which took place last Friday (29th March 2024), adds a new dimension to the city’s beverage offerings.

Since 2006, Gong cha has been on a mission to deliver consistently high-quality beverages made with premium ingredients.

The brand’s international journey began in 2009, and it now runs nearly 2,100 stores across 24 countries.

The Birmingham store, located in a popular area with excellent connectivity, has not only brought the Gong cha brand to the Midlands for the first time but also created 20 local jobs.

This expansion extends Gong cha’s reach to eight cities across the UK.

Justin Goes, Gong cha’s Development Director for the UK & Ireland, expressed his excitement about the Birmingham launch.

What can customers expect at the new store?

Gong cha’s menu offers customers in Birmingham the opportunity to create fully customisable drinks. From brown sugar tapioca pearls to coconut jelly - a variety of bases and more than 600 product combinations.
