On Wednesday March 1, Year 6 pupils across the country will find out which secondary school has offered them a place for September 2023.

Last year, 94.4% of applicants in the UK for a secondary school place received an offer from one of their top three choices, while 83.3% were offered their first-choice secondary school.

Some schools will receive more applications than places it has available and this means that not every parent will be successful. Priority will be given to those who most closely meet the school’s specific admission arrangements.

If the local authority is unable to offer a place at one of the parents’ preferred schools, it must offer a place at another school where there are some available. In an unlikely event that a parent does not receive an offer of a place on March 1, parents should contact their local authority for further advice.

What Ofsted rating does my child’s secondary school have?

With this in mind, we’ve decided to to list the latest Ofsted rating given to every secondary school in Birmingham which has received one. The list shows the school, its location, latest Ofsted rating and the date of the inspection.
