Glynn promises this will be an informal dining experience - ‘like sitting down in a friend’s house’. The Chef’s Table will seat up to eight guests who will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with members of the Purnell’s team as they serve their dishes.

Chefs from Purnell’s kitchen will serve and explain some of the courses, offering a unique and special experience as they interact with guests.

Priced at £60 per person, the five-course menu, which follows the same format as the main restaurant, will showcase the very best ingredients and will feature the exclusive opportunity to try newly created dishes before they appear on the main menu at Purnell’s.

The table itself is situated in the bar area at Purnell’s and seats up to eight guests at a communal table. The table is taller than a standard restaurant table, with high stools, which may mean that it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The bar area, available exclusively to diners and open before and after each service, is headed up by Restaurant Manager Adrien Garnier. A hugely experienced sommelier, Adrien’s knowledge and love for wines from all over the world inspires some wonderful wine flights for Purnell’s guests to enjoy. Adrien will greet guests at the Chef’s Table with a cocktail at the beginning of each dining experience and will offer an optional wine pairing to accompany the menu, priced at £40 per person.

The bar area is a cozy place which is complemented by a series of specially commissioned photographs depicting scenes and landmarks from Birmingham, all taken within half a mile of the restaurant.

What Glynn Purnell said about the new Chef’s Table expeirience in his own words

Chef Patron Glynn Purnell said, ‘’We’re so excited to launch our Chef’s Table in the bar area at Purnell’s. Our Chef’s Table has been designed to be informal. We want it to feel like you are sitting down in a friend’s house, where you can chat with the team, have the opportunity to find out a bit more about what we do and why we do it, and have the chance to enjoy a glass of wine or two during your meal.

“Our bar area has a similar informal vibe, a cozy home-from-home kind of space. It’s essentially an area where you can sit and unwind either before or after your meal. A space that gives you the time to savour the entire experience of dining with us from start to finish, but one with the added benefit of having a Michelin-starred restaurant team looking after you.
