This spot is being taken over by Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana which already has two highly popular restaurants in the city centre - on Bennetts Hill and where Cielo was previously in Brindleyplace.

Rudy’s prides itself on serving perfect and classic Neapolitan pizzas, following the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza.

Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients imported from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella.

All according to a truly authentic Neapolitan technique, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for just 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).

There’s a pretty spectacular cocktail menu too - with the negronis recommended as the best in town. The first Rudy’s opened in 2015 from its original Rudy’s in Ancoats, Manchester, and the Harborne venue is due to open in July - no specific date has yet been announced.

To celebrate the team are preparing to give away free pizza when it does open its doors. You can keep up to date on when this will be - and sign up for the giveaway here: Rudy’s Pizza Harborne. Rudy’s is also recruiting for people to work in the new venue - and there are details about the opportunities here: Rudy’s Pizza Jobs

Neal Bates, Managing Director of Rudy’s, said, “We are delighted to announce that our next Rudy’s site will be located in Birmingham’s Harborne. Birmingham has been incredibly welcoming to the Rudy’s famiglia since we first opened here in 2019, and we can’t wait to expand our sites in this city. Harborne, with its audience of young professionals and families, is a great location for Rudy’s and we can’t wait to open our doors in the summer.”
