At just £44 for six courses, the menu is proof that exceptional dining doesn’t need to come with an exorbitant price tag.

Paired with optional wine or cocktail selections (starting at £30), the experience is both accessible and indulgent - an ideal outing for food lovers seeking a unique gastronomic adventure.

Nestled in Birmingham’s vibrant city centre on Colmore Row, the restaurant blends sleek, contemporary interiors with an inviting atmosphere. The staff play a crucial role in the experience, offering warm, attentive service and guiding diners through each course with insightful commentary.

The Nostalgia menu is a creative exploration of flavours inspired by childhood favourites, each dish combining familiarity with a touch of sophistication.

We started with the Honey Queen apertif - perfect palate cleanser of gin, lemon, honey, prosecco and soda. We then moved on to the snacks.

The space ‘roast’ raiders were utterly delicious. One of the best things we’ve ever eaten. Delivered in Six By Nico Space Raiders bag including crushed baby potatoes, pickled onion, garlic emulsion and fermented melon hot sauce, this nostalgic snack is a perfect nod to the past with all the power of modern flavours.

I’m not going to spoil it by sharing a photo - it is really something special to behold.

The six-course tasting menu and wine pairing proved to be a culinary adventure. We went from an aged comte, hazelnut and serrano ham taco delivered on a nostalgic VHS,

The second course was toadstool, a beautiful roasted maitake, smoked celeriac, gnocchi, truffle and sherry cappuccino. Then onto Let’s Go Camping, equally sensational smoked pork sausage, aged belly, red pepper remesco, nasturtium and almond.

Fish fingers came next with barbecue coley, miso carrot and lobster emulsion served with crispy fish finger, shellfish bisque and salted kumquat.

We added the extra sushi dish - the best tempura prawns ever to be tasted.

Then came ‘Guess Who?’ - we won’t ruin any surprises, and by this point we were nearly full to bursting, but the quality and taste of this delicious food just kept us wanting more.

Finally, course six - snowball fight - a throwback to the classic snowballs -with coconut parfait, lime gel, chocolate and yoghurt snow.

We paired our meal with wine and our server proved to be an exceptional wine connoisseur, talking us through how the selection paired perfectly with the course.

For us, this fine-dining experience was ever more striking due to how creatively accessible it was.
