First look inside the waterfront Birmingham restaurant in beauty spot with award-winning chef

A waterfront bar and restaurant is reopening in a Birmingham beauty spot and it is going to wow its guests

There was shock and dismay when this popular bar and restaurant announced its closure four months ago.

Now it is set to reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, February 21) after being taken over by Open Restaurant Group (ORG) with award-winning chef Andrew Sheriden.

BirminghamWorld has been given a sneak peek into The Bracebridge in Sutton Coldfield ahead of its doors opening to the public and as you will see from our pictures in the gallery below, it is as stunning as ever.

The idyllic waterfront location in Sutton Park is complemented with luxury furnishings and decor. Guests can look forward to a ‘new menu full of British pub classics with a twist’. Its neighbouring kiosk, now the Sip & Slice has reopened with coffee and doughnuts and will soon add freshly-baked bread, pastries, and artisan pizzas. The Terrace section of the venue in Sutton Coldfield will reopen on Tuesday, March 5, with bookings being taken now.

ORG runs three restaurants which all feature in the Michelin restaurant guide – 8 By Andrew Sheridan, which transferred from Birmingham to Liverpool last April and also holds three AA Rosettes. It was named Best Restaurant in the UK at the British Restaurant Awards in September 2023. It also has two upmarket neighbourhood restaurants: Black & Green, in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, and OXA in Oxton, The Wirral.

The Bracebridge is being run as a ‘community partnership’ deal between Sam and Emma Morgan of ORG and chef Andrew. Mr Sheridan says: "We are really excited to be part of the efforts to reopen The Bracebridge, and have been busy training a team of kitchen and waiting staff to deliver the high-quality food and service we are best known for.

"So far, the response has been amazing with lots of early online bookings. We can't wait to welcome guests old and new back to The Bracebridge." Let’s take a look around The Bracebridge ahead of its opening on Wednesday (February 21):
