Birmingham Restaurant Festival 2024: First six restaurants announced for summer event

The preview list of restaurants taking part in Birmingham Restaurant Festival this summer has been unveiled.
Every year, restaurants participating in Birmingham Restaurant Festival create a great value set dinner menu for diners to enjoy during the month-long summer event. Some restaurants will also offer a lunch menu.

Hide AdThey invite foodie lovers across the city to make reservations at as many venues as they please, to sample these exclusive and accessible menus.
Renowned for its multiculturalism, Birmingham is called home by people belonging to 187 nationalities and its vibrant dining scene reflects this diversity. With the Festival, diners will be able to not only explore the city but also travel the world via its culinary delights. The festival will grant guests the tastes of America, India, Syria, Thailand, Spain, France, and China, alongside the very best of British, plus many more.


This year Birmingham Restaurant Festival will take place from August 1 to 31 - and you don’t need to buy a wristband in advance. The popular event is a celebration and showcase of the fantastic restaurants across the city crowned the Most Exciting Foodie Destination in 2022 by the Good Food Guide.*
Among the first venues announced are:
Purnell’s, Glynn Purnell, the Yummy Brummie’s Michelin-starred, flagship restaurant, offering bright and modern dishes and decor
Plates by Purnell’s, the second venue by Glynn Purnell and his team, serving classic Spanish tapas in a small and cosy restaurant
Chapter, a proudly independent neighbourhood restaurant, offering divine dishes championing the best of British seasonal produce
Trentina, a gem of the Jewellery Quarter, serving freshly made pasta, delectable salads and British charcuterie, made with locally grown and crafted ingredients
Dishoom, a Bombay-inspired restaurant, serving a variety of sharing dishes paying homage to traditional Irani cafes
Tattu, known for their contemporary Chinese cuisine presented in an elegant, opulent dining setting.
Hotel du Vin’s Birmingham Bistro, which offers elegant and informal dining with French-style classics
Primitivo, where you’ll find British and European dishes in a modern environment
Chaophraya, at Thai oasis near the Bullring
Isaac’s at The Grand, American comfort food in a historic setting
Chung Ying Cantonese, home to one of the UK’s largest selections of dim sum
The final restaurant line-up will be revealed closer to the event and the Festival menus will all be announced on the 20th of June.

While some restaurants may have the capacity for walk-ins, to guarantee access to the exclusive festival menus, diners must book in advance. Diners do not need to purchase a ticket or wristband. Reservations will be live from June 20 to make bookings for August 1 to 31.
