The owners of a well-known street food restaurant have launched their fourth local bakery and café, this time in Digbeth

Popular street food restaurant, Baked In Brick has expanded its presence in Birmingham with the opening of its fourth café, Bakehouse, located in Digbeth. This new venue joins the existing locations in Sutton Coldfield, Wylde Green, and Broad Street.

Bakehouse offers a delightful menu featuring homemade sourdough sandwiches, daily changing salads, overnight oats, and an array of pastries, cakes, and baked goods. In addition to sourdough, the café serves a variety of artisanal bread, including Bloomers, Rolls, Focaccia, and tin loaves, all freshly made daily and available for pre-order.

Guests can enjoy a selection of fresh juices, soft drinks, and hot beverages made with coffee beans from Quarter House, a local independent coffee roaster. The café’s treats can be savored at one of the eight tables, each equipped with plug sockets and free Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot for hybrid workers and small business meetings.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, Bakehouse will host pop-up events, such as wine and cheese nights. The café also sells Cacklebean eggs from the family-run Cackleberry Farm in the Cotswolds, and uses these free-range eggs in its recipes. Additionally, Digbeth Honey, sourced from bee hives on the roof of the Custard Factory, is used to sweeten the treats.

Lee DeSanges, Owner and Director of Baked In Brick, said: “Opening The Bakehouse just a stone’s throw away from our Digbeth restaurant is a full circle moment for us after having branched out into different areas in Birmingham. We’re looking forward to broadening our Digbeth footprint and once again joining the other amazing venues in the neighbourhood.”

Bakehouse is located at Gibb Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B9 4AA, and is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
