EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton, known for her role as Ruby Allen, shares her love for Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter and reveals her favourite boutique hotel in the city.

Actress Louisa Lytton, best known for her role as Ruby Allen in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders, has shared her love for Birmingham after a successful stop on her current theatre tour.

The London-born star, who has also made waves in UK theatre, took to Instagram to express her gratitude following a warm reception from Birmingham audiences. “Birmingham you were a joy! Thank you to everyone that came and the amazing response – I’m quite overwhelmed by it all tbh,” she wrote.

During her visit, Lytton stayed at the stylish boutique hotel Saint Paul’s House in the city’s historic Jewellery Quarter. “I stayed at the GORGEOUS @saintpaulshouse and basically only left the Jewellery Quarter to do the show – the locals thought I’d moved there,” she joked. “Defo recommend, gorgeous food, amazing location.”

She added: “Touring is a strange way of life, you’re taken away from your home, family and all your comforts. BUT the sun is shining and Birmingham has never felt so good, it’s basically a working holiday.

“Most days we have two shows or other work commitments like interviews for local press but a one show day meant I had a minute for myself.”

Fans praised her performance in the city in The Girl on the Train at The Alexandra Theatre and flooded her social media with supportive comments.

With her next stop set for Southend, the actress shows no signs of slowing down as she continues to balance stage and screen success.

Lytton’s affection for Birmingham and its welcoming vibe only adds to the city’s growing reputation as a cultural and creative hotspot – with the Jewellery Quarter, in particular, standing out as a must-visit destination.
