The NHS has outlined who is eligible to receive a spring booster Covid-19 jab.

The jab is being offered to people aged 75 and over as well as all people aged 12 and over who have a weakened immune system.

If you have any of the below, you will be offered a booster jab

  • a blood cancer (such as leukaemia or lymphoma)
  • a weakened immune system due to a treatment (such as steroid medicine, biological therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy)
  • an organ or bone marrow transplant
  • a condition that means you have a very high risk of getting infections
  • a condition or treatment your specialist advises makes you eligible for a 3rd dose and a booster (4th dose)

For the best protection from your spring booster, it is recommended that you wait six months from your last jab before receiving it.

The NHS is getting in touch with people who are eligible for the booster to invite them in for their jab.

You will be contacted via text or letter, you are asked to bring this along when you go to the vaccination centre.

If you think you are eligible but do not have a letter or text, someone at the site with clinical training will talk to you to help make sure it’s the right time for you to get your spring booster.
