It was 11 glorious days of sport when Birmingham welcomed the world to celebrate the phenomenal sporting talent from across the globe.
It was the biggest event that Birmingham had ever staged - and the biggest in England since the London 2012 Olympics - and was a huge success, attracting an impressive 1.5 million spectators.
Athletes from the 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth sent teams from Australia, Canada, South Africa, Tuvalu and more. And the Opening and Closing ceremonies at Alexander Stadium captured the imagination of the world.
Now the Birmingham Festival 2023 has been announced - a free 10 day event being held this summer - to mark the first anniversary of the Games. It’s backed by Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight and gold medal winning Team England Netball Captain Ama Agbeze - among others with more details due soon.
