Shrewsbury-based Shropshire Cat Rescue is home to many cats looking for a forever home. They take care of shelter, food and veterinary care for homeless, stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens, and rehome where possible.
The animal charity also has a retirement village for cats, and are doing all they can to educate people and created awareness. The cats living with them are looking for a second chance at finding family and love.
With love and care, these cats will be able to settle in to their new homes but some of them have particular needs. So, if you have been looking to adopt a cat - this charity is one of the best places to choose from.
Here are seven cats that need a home and can be yours:

1. Chewy
Chewy is a friendly boy who found his way to the shelter following the loss of his owner. Chewy loves his fuss and is very vocal when he wants some attention. He dislikes other cats and would not tolerate living with them. Originally he protested at the sight of another cat, but since being at the shelter for several weeks, he is now getting used to seeing them walk around and keeps his grumbles to himself. He could live with older children. | Shropshire Cat Rescue

2. Roley
Roley is approximately 2 years old and recently found himself on the streets fending for himself following the death of his owner. Roley is initially defensive when first meeting, his natural reaction is to hiss and wait to see what happens. They found that just being a little patient with him and letting him see that there is no danger works wonders. Roley hasn’t been dog tested but this can be done upon request. He hasn’t shown any interest in other cats, but being in a home with multiple cats may take away that one on one attention that he needs to build confidence. He could live with cat experienced children. | Shropshire Cat Rescue

3. Lenny and Neo
Lenny and Neo are both shy boys. They enjoy gentle fuss and can be bribed with dreamies! Lenny sees himself as somewhat of a protector for Neo, and Neo seeks a lot of reassurance from Lenny. Lenny has a grade 1-2 heart murmur but does not require any additional care or medication. Lenny is wearing the red collar in the photos. Neo is the smaller of the two. | Shropshire Cat Rescue
4. Kevin
He is a confident little boy who enjoys his fuss and attention. Kevin loves to play with anything that dangles or rolls. He would be well suited to a young family, especially if the children already have experience with cats. Kevin has a grade 1 heart murmur. He also has a small umbilical hernia which has been assessed by our vets. As it is small and not causing any issues, this hernia does not need operating on. | Shropshire Cat Rescue
