Whether you’re absorbing the stunning views from Lickey Hills, strolling through the bustling High Street in the city centre or taking in the architecture of the Jewelry Quarter, Birmingham and the West Midlands is home to some mesmerising scenery - we speak to Brummies about their favourite place to take a winter walk.

Sophie says: “Oh yes so we’re from about six miles outside of the city centre so we live close to Clent Hills, so Clent, Walton Hills - absolutely beautiful. Amazing pubs - I think it’s a national park actually so it’s really really nice up there. Lots of awesome pubs, good for roasts, good to sit in front of a fire and drink some wine.”

Julie says: “Yeah, I say Sutton Park could be great for a walk around there and there’s places to have coffee as well. I think yeah. I quite like having a walk around cities. Like here in Birmingham.”

Amy says: “So I love the Lickey Hills. Because it’s just the beautiful views and a real winter wonderland feel I think when you get really into the sort of forest areas of the Lickey hills, and I think Edgbaston reservoir is probably a classic. A bit of an oasis in the middle of inner city Birmingham.”

Nicola says: “Cannon Hill Park, so vast, there’s so many areas to explore. So that’s really, really nice. But I also live in the Black Country. So Mary Stevens Park - it’s quite small, but it’s actually really beautiful. It’s quite an old Victorian Park. So I really enjoyed walking up there.”

Graham says: “I’ve got no doubt at all - it’s Packwood. A walk that we always do most Christmases - take mince pies and coffee with us and we do a walk around Packwood House in Warwickshire.”

David says: “Cannock Chase isn’t too far away from here and I’m told that’s a very nice way to go for a walk. Apart from that, anywhere in south Birmingham”

Jessica says: “I think the Wrekin in Kidderminister, that’s a really nice place - in Telford! I’ve been there before. It’s like hilly, very forresty, but there’s a nice hill to watch the sunset on as well. And obviously, the sun goes down quite early in the winter. So it’s really nice. It’s very nice.”

Zoe says: “I really like Himley. Because you’ve got the lake to walk around, the fields. You’ve got the big hall, then you can walk through to Baggeridge where you’ve got the visitors centre and the park”

Tracey says: “I like the Wrens Nest nature reserve, which is local to us and we take our dog up there. It changes with the weather, it changes with the season. You know, you can go up on a frosty morning and it’s totally different and then you go up when it’s really snowy. And again, it’s a totally different picture and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s right slap bang in the middle of Dudley, you know, so it’s really good.”

Patricia says: “I like Baggeridge. That’s really nice. You could have a walk around the lake or you can have a walk up to the top which is quite a walk and see the views. It’s really lovely just just for a walk, go for a stroll or just want to just do a wander”
